AreYou Born to Rock?!

MTV kicked off the world's first 'genetic' talent show, called Rock the Cradle on Thursday night. Boy was it interesting to see who did not have the talents that their superstar parents possessed.

One of the most peculiar/embarrassing performances was that of Olivia Newton John's daughter, Chloe Lattanzi. She said that her bad singing was because she couldn't hear herself in the little earpiece device. Yeah right! Chloe when they showed you practicing with the band, one could tell that the band members weren't feeling her singing either.

When she got reviews from the judges, Lattanzi was very defensive. Also is it just her face, or does it look like plastic surgery gone wrong? Maybe she got her looks from her father, because Olivia Newton John looks way better.

Chloe wasn't the only apple who fell far from the tree, just take a look at Al B Sure's son. His dad was stingy with his gene pool of good looks and undeniable talent. Lil B Sure does have a nice voice but it's not up to par with his dad's. I don't know, maybe they were mostly nervous for their first national televised performance. Out of nine, the top two, in my eyes, are Eddie Money's and MC Hammer's daughters.

America's Best Dance Group: Jabbawockeez

America has decided who is the BEST.....Jabbawockeez.

Many people guessed it and I was one of them to make this prediction. It was clear who would be the $100,000 cash prize winner. Their style is too unique for any other competitor to imitate or surpass.

Status quo relied heavily on their stunts which proved to be their downfall. Dancing is more than than doing a few amazing tricks.

Captivating CHOREOGRAPHY is essential as well as telling a story. Jabbawockeez accurately combines these two elemnts. They also include crowd participation by jumping into the audience to get them hype. This heightens their performance level/acceptance.

The last episode began with a big reunion of the ten dance teams that were eliminated. Here's a list of teams & the places they represent:
Full Out-East side (MA, NY and FL)
The Movement- North (New York)
Femme 5- Mid West (Chicago, IL)
Enigma- South (FL)
Automatic Response- MidWest (Arizona)
Iconic- East (MD)
Live N' Color-South (Florida region)
Fysh N Chicks- West (Hollywood CA)
Break Sk8-Midwest (Indiana)
Kabba Modern- West side (California region)

YeeeeaaaaaHH Boyiieee!!! 3rd Time is a Charm....Hopefully

This show first brought VH1 its highest ratings seen to date, with women bickering and possessing less than classy characteristics. These 16 women were fighting to win one man's heart, Flavor Flav. One of the founders of the political rap group of the 90s, Public Enemy.

Flav's quest for love on this show has resulted in two failed attempts. Flavor of Love also, brought along a string of other similar shows like: I Love New York I&II (a popuplar contestant on his first and second show), Rock of Love I and now currently airing II.

Maybe third time will be a charm for him, because I refuse to watch the next one. I barely keep up with the third. Let's be serious. Flav is nearing 60-years-old. Ironically he says he is not ending his search until he finds a lady that he can father four more babies. Flav already has six kids and he wants to end with a total of ten!

This week the girls' challenge was to do a comedy "roast" on each other, as if the entire show doesn't involve them already roasting each other. Chi aka "Halatocis" won the challenge. It's so funny to watch Flav go for a kiss and discovers her disturbing hygeine problem.

How embarrassing is it to have Flav diss you on national television, when he already resembles a roach.

But I can't completely down him. He does seem to have a genuine personality. He's naturally funny. Sometimes in a good way and sometimes not. He keeps it real for the cameras, because he definitely doesn't put on a front.

Flav please choose carefully this time, because God forbid, VH1 allows a Flavor of Love IV!

*Check him out every Monday at 9pm on VH1

Farewell Fysh and Chicks...Go Kabba Modern!!

After being in the bottom two for the second time in a row, Fysh N Chickz are not saved by the judges this time. This week the five groups honored Michael Jackson's hit songs from the Thriller album. It is the 25th anniversary of Jackson's record breaking LP.

Brake Skate came out on top after creating an exciting trick-filled routine to "Beat It." Although they were fighting to stay a float, Brake Skate blew Fysh N Chickzs out of the water.

The girls' choreography wasn't enough to impress the judges, Lil' Mama (rapper/dancer), Shane Sparks(popular choreographer), and JC (of Nsync).
Some of the girls shed tears as they watched their banner drop from the ceiling holdings.

It's all good though, because all teams that are eliminated have upped their status from oblivion to being known by being featured on this national show, but parting from that step closer to winning $100,000 is such SwEet-sOrRoW.

The four teams left now are: Status quo, Jabbawockeez, Brake Skate, and Kabba Modern.

My bets are still on Jabbawockeez and Kabba Modern being the final two teams to battle it out for the grand prize. (Crazy team names with equally CrAzY moves).

American Idol Vet

This show has become a staple in the typical American family viewing. Although they've had previous careers prior to becoming judges, Paula, Randy, and Simon may have become house hold names, especially Simon.

The competition is getting fiercer. But let's take a look at how Paula puts it down. Current contestants and future ones should take notes.

Here's her new song/video "Dance like there's no tomorrow."

Neva seen Dancing like this B4!!

America's Best Dance group is by far one of the most entertaining shows on right now. Crazy choreography and crowd excitement adds to the liveness of this show.
Groups from the north, south, east, and midwest compete to be declared as America's Best Dance Group and a monetary prize of $100,000.
Brake Skate is a group that dances on skates using acrobatics as well as break-dancing.Kabba Modern is an Asian group known for their intricate isolations. Jabbawockeez wear expressionless masks and are known for their wicked style of dances with moves that create the illusion of gravity. Fysh N Chickz is a multi-talented all girl group that have proven themselves to be worthy contenders. Status quo is the all black male group who incorporate flips into their routines.
With these five groups standing, who will be crowned AMERICA'S BEST DANCE GROUP?

Personally, I think the two finalist will be Kabba Modern and Jabbawockeez. They are unstoppable, and they each bring something new to the show every performance.

New episodes air every Thursday at 10pm, only on MTV.
